Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is the systematic  assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves  to assist in rehabilitation, pain and  injury management.

Remedial massage aims to reduce or eliminate  pain, and restore normal function. It can help  increase mobility and flexibility and assist with a range of conditions including sleep disorders and mental health conditions.

How is remedial massage different to other types of massage?

Remedial massage is focused on treating a particular injury or condition. Only Remedial  massage therapists are trained and qualified to identify the underlying cause of your condition.

What to expect from a remedial massage appointment?

Before  any remedial massage treatment begins, your therapist should perform a  thorough consultation and assessment to identify the underlying cause of your condition.

The therapist should then use a  range of techniques to locate and treat problem areas, including massage, non-thrust manipulation  and mobilization. Techniques should be selected and applied based on your  unique needs, and in a way that suits you.

Your therapist must develop a specific  treatment plan for your injury or condition. This treatment plan forms  the basis of the clinical notes, which must be taken by the therapist at  each consultation.
